Do Thi Tuyet Minh was born in 1963 in the traditional lacquer painting village of Ha Thai, Duyen Thai Commune, Thuong Tin District, Hanoi. In 2008 she together with her husband established the Minh Canh private enterprise to manufacture the lacquerware for export and opened the free vocational training center specializing in teaching and introducing the available jobs to the young, the disabled and the children under difficult circumstances. She is well-known for her own style of lacquer paintings with the vivid colours and sophisticated patterns. Two of paintings bringing her the noble prizes are “Song nuoc binh minh”- the gold prize at the “Vietnam Star in 2004” and “Co gai tuoi mong mo”- the Vietnam Essence prize.
